Quantum Information Science and Technology

Cornell researchers produce world-leading quantum research and stand ready to catalyze these efforts thanks to a strong culture of cross-college partnerships. Through existing programs, such as the Provost’s Radical Collaboration initiative, Cornell Engineering can advocate for hires with quantum-relevant experience in the realms of data science as well as nanoscale science and microsystems engineering (NEXT Nano) — which have already been identified as strategic areas for investment at the university level.

Cornell Engineering will expand the capacity for its overall performance in quantum information science and technology by linking the potential of theoretical and experimental researchers, investing in new infrastructure to support both the development of quantum materials and materials used for quantum applications, and to further push the limits of discovery.
